Tailor-made extranet solution based on QNova Document Management
Since 2002 the Aastra Group has been using a customised version of the QNova Document Management tool as part of its corporate extranet strategy. The software has been specially adapted to meet Aastra's needs and enables the company to handle efficiently and effectively all the information it has to communicate to its partners and resellers around the world.
The Aastra Group develops and supplies integrated communication solutions, known as “Unified Communications”. After acquiring Ericsson’s enterprise communications business in 2008, Aastra has established itself as a leading name in telecommunications with operations in almost 40 countries.
– That means we have a broad contact network of partners and resellers that we must communicate with in different markets, each with their own specific needs, explains project leader Christina Segerberg, who is based in Aastra’s Stockholm office.
To handle all this information, to which access needs to be differentiated according to language and user category, the Aastra Group has been using a customised version of the QNova Document Management tool since 2002.
– It has been a delight to work with QNova Systems, Christina Segerberg says. Right from the start we saw the potential for QNova Systems to customise their document management software to offer the kind of simplicity, flexibility and security that we were looking for. Over the years, the system has consistently lived up to all the demands we have made on it.
In 2011 the Aastra Group decided to redesign their extranet to adapt it to the group’s graphic profile.
– What we have now done is to build in an update with the help of the latest Lotus Domino XPage technology. The big advantage of this is that the system now works with all modern web browsers as well as tablet computers such as Apple’s Ipad. That makes it easier than ever for Aastra Telecom Sweden’s partners to access information, no matter where in the world they are, says Fredrik Norling, a developer with QNova Systems.

– This modernised system has given us full control over a dynamic content management process when publishing specific information for partners and resellers on local markets within a common, group-wide system.
